Resident activities 2019

At Arlington House, we believe in offering exceptional care, delicious food and a wide range of interesting activities each and every day. On the activities front, here’s what we’ve been up to so far this year.

First and foremost, we’ve tried to make the start of 2019 as varied as possible. We began the new year with a trip to our local Waterfield’s Bakery to pick up everyone’s favourite cake. It’s fair to say that this event was extremely well-received and we have had a few gentle reminders to repeat this event at some point in the near future!

And sticking with food-related activities, we had the best ever pancake day in 2019. All residents were given the chance to a flip a pancake or two, before they got to sample the fruits of their labour!

Bingo continues to be a big favourite at Arlington House and it’s been nice to see a few new faces receiving the winners prizes. Also, there appears to be a small dominoes club forming on Sunday mornings in the dining room – this is a great way for some of our residents to pass time and keep them stimulated. We hope this trends catches on with others too.

Our main event was held on the 19th March, where John Dee (one of Arlington’s favourite singers) belted out a few classics, while the residents danced and sang the afternoon away.

Finally, a reminder to all our friends and families, that we can arrange for 121 day trips to any local destination of your choice. Many of our residents do this on a regular or ad-hoc basis and thoroughly enjoy a change of scenery. Please speak with us to arrange if you are interested.
